Okay, since I don't have children to blog about I will blog about my dogs. Because they always seem to be doing something they shouldn't be doing. We have been told that dogs have the mentality of a 2-3yr old child. And I believe it. An since I don't have children to blog about then those of you who know me can say "Gosh, why do we always have to hear about those dogs"
So, Friday nite I am asleep when I am awakened by Chet yelling "Hey, hey" very loud ly. So I wake up wondering what in the world is going on, it's 1am. Chet says "they (the dogs) are fighting". So we jump out of bed and run into the kitchen, no dogs there, look around the corner into the living room and see Max. He has Bea cornered. We also see some foil in the living room floor. Yes, Max had countersurfed again in the middle of the night. Chet had gotten up at 12:55am (5 minutes earlier) to let them out to go to the bathroom. They came back in and when Chet went to bed Max went into the kitchen for a midnite snack, literally. What they (Max) ate was a whole loaf of pumpkin bread, that I had brought home from school. It was a gift from a student. It was no small loaf either and he ate 3 bavarian cream donuts (Chet's favorite that he had brought home from work, a gift from one of his patients). Within 5 minutes he devoured all of this stuff and kept Bea away from all of it. Luckily they weren't fighting when we got to them. I grabbed Max and Chet was getting Bea when she tried to attack Max before Chet could grab her. I'm sure she was mad that he didn't share the goodies with her. The were separated for about 10 minutes and then all was well. The next day Max was bloated and today he is really feeling the effects of eating/hoarding all that stuff. Serves him right for not sharing the goodies and eating our (mine and Chet's gifts). Anybody, want to dogsit?

Where everybody knows your name........
Or only the girl at the counter knows our name. One of our (Chet and mine) places to go for Sunday lunch after church is Chapps burgers in NRH. We go there about once every 2-4 weeks. That is really not that often. Anyway, we decide to go there Sunday. We go up the counter I give my order. Chet usually gets the same as me only this time he changes it up a little. After you place your order they ask for your name. Instead of asking for a name, the girl taking the order says "Chet, right". We look at each other like, Whaaa, she knows our name (well Chet's name). How can this be, we don't eat here everyday. Then she proceeds to say "you usually get the same thing as your wife, don't you"? Now we are even more surprised that she knows not only our name but our order!! This girl is good.
It took my back to my days of working at good ol' Clown Burger in Haltom City. Yep, that's what I said, Clown Burger. The establishment is over 60 years old. Well, the original establishment has been bulldozed but the business still lives on over off Haltom Road and Stanley Keller.
For those who are reading this (Laura S.), I didn't have to wear a clown suit or red nose or crazy wig. It was just a place to work during high school. I ended up working there for 4 years. It's probably the reason I got my job as a teacher in Birdville. Ask me and I'll tell you that story later.
Oh, those were the days........going home smelling like a greasy burger, YUCK!!

Who ate all the candy.....
Let me set the scene. I have been at a conference in Dallas for the first half of the day. Then I decide to do a little shopping. No luck there. I head home about 3. Pull in the garage, get the mail, then walk inside the house to find Max inside. This is strage b/c we put both dogs outside when we leave the house. We lock the dog door and put a chair in front of the dog door (they have been known to bust thru the dog door, even when it's locked). So, I wander down the hall to find toilet paper strewn from the bathroom into the hallway. I make my way to the kitchen to find NERDS candy on the carpet in the hallway and the living room. I find 2 boxes of NERDS spilled on the living room floor. I finally make my way to the back door to see candy wrappers in the back yard, a torn up magazine, and one of my shoes. I go outside and find the NERDS bag and several NERDS candy boxes in the yard. I see a Baby Ruth candy bar wrapper and think....oh no! One of the dogs go into the kitchen and pulled the silver bowl of candy off the island. In this silver bowl of candy was the NERDS, a bag of mini Baby Ruth bars, a few boxes of Hot Tamales, and 3 bars of Ghirardelli chocolate that came from my most recent trip to San Francisco. So, now I'm pretty mad that they ate all my chocolate, not to mention the chocolate from San Francisco. Now, that I'm not mad anymore I'm concerned that the dogs are going to be deathly ill b/c chocolate can be lethal to dogs. I called the vet and they said to watch for vomiting and/or diarrhea. They are such bad dogs. Anybody need a couple of dog door ramming, candy eatin' dogs!!!
