Overwhelmed and Inundated with info

okay, so this week has been so hectic. I started back to work a week earlier than most just so that I could get things in order and be ready to work on school stuff the week before school started. That didn't work out so well. I feel like a brand new teacher all over again. All the info seems new and strange to me. Sometimes it even seems like I am trying to learn a new language. And just when I thought I got my classroom in a good place...I had to rearrange it again for the computer and phone placement. The computer and phone were right in the middle of my classroom library. Cords would have been going everywhich way just to reach my desk. So, I had to redo the class library and move my desk and all it's disorderly-orderlyness as well. My class is being revamped over the weekend. As you guessed, I will be at work again on Sunday getting things ready for the kids on Monday. I feel so behind:/ And it may seem crazy but I usually see myself as pretty with-it! Well, so far I am not with anything!

Meet the Glorious Teacher (me, of course)!!!

Tonite was meet the teacher nite and I am so excited! After cleaning my room like I did when I was eight (only this time instead of throwing things under my bed, I threw them in the closest closet and hoped no one would open it), I was ready to meet the kiddos. And I have to say that I am excited at the prospect of who I will mold these students into! Since I subbed in their classes, I know over half of them already so that puts me on a little bit higher playing field, which I am so glad for! One of them was so excited that I was her teacher, she came in and gave me a big hug then proceeded to give me a picture of herself. What else says "I'm so glad you're my teacher", now have a picture of me just in case you forget who I am over the weekend!! It's going to be a good year. I know there will be days that I want to run out of the portable naked with my hair on fire....but there will be those days that all is well and their accomplishments will meet our greatest expectations. Ahhh, school, wonderful school! I'm so happy it's here! ~ Just not happy that I have to get up early to get there ; )

They keep telling me that I haven't blogged.....
Of course, I know this since I'm the blogger. I told Laura today that really all I wanted to do was complain and I have decided that I really have done enough of that so I really didn't feel like blogging (if I wasn't going to complain). So, what to blog about, hmmmm. Well, I started back to work and it's good to be with friends again! I really love my friends from work. They are fun to be with and total get me (even though I can be goofy and pretty nerdy). Goofy as in sending a text message meant for my hubby, that ends with "love you" but instead sending to a friend at school. Then waiting for her to get it during a meeting and laughing so hard I cried. Ahhh, good times!! As much as I don't really enjoy going to meetings, it really is the time I get to be with friends during the workday, otherwise it's with the kids only and not much adult interaction! Maybe this year will be a little different since I have a close neighbor. I will make sure to bug her often, just as I did my first neighbor in kindergarten. If you ever want to hear some funny stories ask me about the burned paper plate and the bacon cooking incident. Well, so much for keeping it short. I gotta get back to working on something.

STRESS

Talk about stress. School starts soon. And meet the teacher nite is even sooner. But, only have a few days left to get room ready because have lotsa teacher meetings to attend. Where did all the time go...I am so stressed out!!!!

Best thing about summer vacation....

The best thing about summer vacation (other than sleeping in, not working, and doing anything I darn well please) is no makeup, no hair and no shower necessary. I love not having to do my makeup, fix my hair or take a shower in the summertime. 'Cause who cares, if you're staying home most of the day, noone even knows. Or if you plan on doing some work that will require sweat, then no shower needed. Summer is awesome but I only have a few more days to enjoy the no shower, no hair, no makeupness of it all!!!

BodyWorks or doesn't work

Okay, so for those of you who don't know....I am training to do a half-marathon in october. So, on my trainig schedule for today I am supposed to do an hour or so of aerobic exercise instead of a run. I figure I will go to the gym and take one of those classes. My favorite class is called "BodyWorks plus abs". There are 2 different ladies who teach it at different times. I have taken the class from both ladies. I like one lady more than the other because her body looks more like mine and I don't feel so bad for being out of shape. Well, I don't usually go to Thursday nite class so I don't know who is teaching. Well, guess who is teaching, 'the other lady'. The one with the great bod who makes you work really hard and when she does it, it looks so easy. So easy in fact that she shimmies to the music during the exercise. Well, she is about 7 months pregnant so I'm feeling a little better about staying tonite. As I saw pregnancy for her does not matter as to her ability. She did almost every exercise she made us do and it didn't seem to wear her out a bit. Meanwhile I am pouring sweat, getting yucky tummy because I'm so stinkin' hot, and watching the clock praying that it would move faster so this class would be over!!! It finally ended and I have decided that if I go back and she is teaching, then I am OUT!!!!

My first blog on my own blog....

Okay, so this is my first blog on my own blog. I must be honest and tell you that I am not a techie, at all. I have to have help with this stuff or I just stumble through it (which I have done this time). My friends have blogs so I thought what the heck, I should try this blog stuff as well. I can be a big procrastinator so we shall see if I can keep up with this this blog thing. So, check back often to see what is going on......
